Background
Ayer Public Access Corporation (APAC) is a 501(c)(3) corporation founded in 2002 to fulfill requirements in the Town of Ayer's contract with its cable television provider, Comcast . APAC provides PEG (Public, Educational, and Government) programming and other content to the residents of the Town of Ayer, including live and recorded cablecasting of municipal board and committee meetings, school events, public affairs programs, and religious programs, The organization is funded through a capital equipment grant from Comcast Corporation, and a percentage of Comcast's revenue from subscribers in Ayer. Annual revenue is approximately $140,000. Policymaking, and other executive functions are carried out by an Executive Director and six-member board of directors. Videography, programming, and production are implemented by a staff of eight full- and part-time employees.

Contract
A contract renewal between Ayer and Comcast was renegotiated in 2013 by the Ayer Cable Advisory Committee and may be viewed here. A similar contractual agreement for public access has been discussed with Verizon Corporation, but discussions were suspended in 2011 by Verizon.
